The fifth annual Fighters Only World MMA Awards will take place on Friday, January 11, 2013 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV.  The most outspoken man in MMA (UFC Light Heavyweight) Chael Sonnen will return as host along with the beautiful Molly Qerim.

The night honors outstanding moments, fights, and fighters of the year and draws the industries biggest stars.  With categories ranging from Knockout of the Year to Ring Card Girl of the Year, there’s a little something for everyone.

Oceanwatch will produce the big event and edit the television broadcast airing on various Fox/FSN networks in late January and early February of 2013.  Tickets for the live show are available at ticketmaster.com.  Check out the promo on our Oceanwatch home page.

It has been a tremendous year for Oceanwatch and the fall proves to continue with a full schedule of exciting events.

The season started off a little rocky in Chicago for the first of four Red Bull Flugtag events.  On the morning of the event, unsafe marine conditions forced the event to be cancelled.  While the outcome was disappointing, spirits were high in pit row where the participants socialized and admired the creative crafts.

The tour continued on to Philadelphia on September 15th.  65,000 spectators gathered at Camden Waterfront to watch the human-powered flight machines fly across the Delaware River.  With two events in the bag, Miami and San Francisco will be the final 2 stops on the tour.

Oceanwatch had the pleasure of meeting Hollywood Icon Martin Landau at the Los Angeles Times  screening of ‘Frankenweenie.’  The Oscar winner discussed many topics- from working with director Tim Burton and actor Vincent Price, to his latest project voicing Mr. Rzykruski in the stop motion film ‘Frankenweenie.’

We’ve traveled across the US producing and filming segments for Red Bull’s Bullit Magazine program.  The segment is titled ‘Magic Moments’ and features athletes who have accomplished incredible fetes in their sport.

In Minnesota, we interviewed snowmobile great Levi Lavallee about his New Year’s Eve world record distance jump of 412 ft.  In Reno mountain biker Paul Basagoitia relived his natural terrain double back flip.  And most recently in Stevensville, Montana kayaker Tyler Bradt described the terrifying world record he set at Palouse Falls.

Next up is the exciting documentary/reality series ‘Break’n Reality 2.’  The series follows breakdancers in their every day lives as they prepare for the BC One World Series in Rio, Brazil.  Oceanwatch will be an integral part of the U.S. production before the team heads to Brazil.

Rounding out the year is the always exciting Crashed Ice World Series.  For the first time ever, the tour heads to Niagara Falls for a December 1 debut.

We are fortunate and grateful for all of the wonderful things we are able to be a part of.  Please check our site for news updates and videos!
